Twitter pays tribute to Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary

Today is birth anniversary of India’s missile man, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, he is not with us, but people didn't forget him, tributes are pouring in on popular microblogging platform Twitter.

In 1997, Kalam received India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna. He got title '‘India’s missile man’' because of his contribution to the field of ballistic missiles and launch vehicle technology. He played big role in India's Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998, the first since the original nuclear test by India in 1974.

He worked with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as an aerospace engineer before becoming the President. And he served as the 11th President of India between 2002-2007.

On July 27, 2015, He passed away at the age of 83 due to cardiac arrest in IIM Shillong while giving a lecture.
