Facebook has Paid $5 Million in 5 Years to Bug Hunters : India Is Top On the List

This year Facebook is celebrating fifth anniversary of the its Bug Bounty program. And facebook announced that they have paid $5 Million in 5 Years to Bug Hunters for bug bounty program.

Las year Facebook announced that they have paid $1.3 million for bug bounty program to 321 researchers across the globe and India contributed the largest number of valid bugs. The average reward in 2014 was $1,788.

This year Facebook added WhatsApp to their program, expanded payment options to include Bitcoin, and switched to an automated payment process so company can pay researchers faster.

Company have released statistics of the first half of this year (January-June, 2016), and Again India is among top contributors in the list. India is in first place,USA in second and Maxico is in Third.

Company received more than 9,000 reports in the first half of 2016. Company paid a total of $611,741 to 149 researchers, $5 Million in 5 Years to more than 900 researchers.
