Instagram introduces keyword moderation tool to filter ‘offensive’ comments

Finally, Instagram is rolling out its keyword moderation tool for all users to empower them to decide for themselves how they want to moderate comments on their posts.

With this tool you can create list custom keywords words you consider offensive or inappropriate. If someone will come on your post with these words will be hidden from your posts. You can also use default words.

According to some reports Taylor Swift was early tester of this tool, before launching it for everyone.

Instagram had previously introduced other comment moderation tools like swiping to delete comments, reporting inappropriate comments and blocking accounts.

Kevin Systrom wrote on the blog,  All different types of people — from diverse backgrounds, races, genders, sexual orientations, abilities and more — call Instagram home, but sometimes the comments on their posts can be unkind. To empower each individual, we need to promote a culture where everyone feels safe to be themselves without criticism or harassment. It’s not only my personal wish to do this, I believe it’s also our responsibility as a company.

Along with the keyword blacklist tools This feature will be available from today. Just tap the gear icon on your profile, you’ll find a new Comments tool.
