Facebook 360 video update: Watch most interesting part of video

In segment of encouraging publisher for facebook have released two new tools to help publishers to learn more about how their audiences respond to their 360 videos.

Two new tools Guide and Heatmap will help publishers. Company said, more than 250,000 360 videos have been uploaded to Facebook, since company started rolling out 360 videos in News Feed last September.

Guide :
It will help publishers to give viewers a guided tour of 360 video as it plays. When people watch your video, Guide will be turned on by default—your video will automatically pan around to your points of interest as it plays. Viewers who prefer to not watch via Guide can simply pan or swipe out of the scene to explore the full 360-degree view on their own.

Heatmap :
This visual insights tool is most helpful tool for publishers. It shows publishers which portions of a 360 video’s field of view publisher's audience is spending the most time watching.



Heatmap will be available for any video posted from May 1 that has more than 50,000 unique viewers. To see your Heatmap, go to video library, then click on the video you’d like to learn more about. You’ll find Heatmap under the Video Insights tab for that video.
