Study shows fish can recognise Human Face

Archerfish is well known for its perfect aim Spit. Now scientists are revealing its another ability of recognising human face.

The team of scientists from the University of Oxford (UK) and the University of Queensland (Australia) have conducted a study to teach fish how to recognize human faces. And scientists found that archerfish were able to learn and recognize faces with a high degree of accuracy which shows the good memory of Archerfish.

Video shows that fish is able to distinguish between human faces.

According to Culum Brown from Macquarie University, "Fish are more intelligent than they appear. In many areas, such as memory, their cognitive powers match or exceed those of ‘higher’ vertebrates including non-human primates." And the experiment is demonstrating it.
