Finally, Whatsapp video call is available for Android - activate it

After one year of activating voice call, whatsapp has finally activated its most expected video call feature for android devices.

The latest beta version of the app (v2.16.80) for Android devices shows two options Video call and Voice call.

How to get it ? The APK file is ready for download from APK Mirror as well. ( Note - It's Beta, Download It On your Own Risk )

Unfortunately, feature is not yet available for everyone - even if you have updated your whatsapp or you have beta version, Some users have reported this error message “Couldn’t place call. Video calling is unavailable at this time.”.

The video-calling feature is already available on many other messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, Hangouts, Viber and Skype. But, why WhatsApp’s video is matters ? Because WhatsApp has 1 billion monthly active users, which is largest number and the feature will be available to all users.

The feature is currently in testing phase and it seems like feature needs to be activated from the server. Voice call was also initially available only for few users through invite, later it started rolling out for everyone. Probably, we won't have to wait too long.
