RIP Picasa : Google is shutting down its photo storing and sharing service

Finally, Official picasa blog got an update after five years ( last update December 8, 2011 ), and guess for what ! Google is shutting down its photo sharing and storing service.

Picas was originally created by Lifescape in 2002. Google acquired Picasa In July 2004, and began offering it as freeware.

You will still be able to view, download, or delete your Picasa Web Albums, but you won't be able to create, organize or edit albums.

If you have photos or videos in a Picasa Web Album, and all your photos and videos are available in Google Photos. you can continue to upload and organize photos, by using Google Photos. Company also said that company is creating a new place for you to access your Picasa Web Albums data.
Company said:

We apologize for any inconvenience this transition causes, but we want to assure you that we are doing this with the aim of providing the best photos experience possible. Google Photos is a new and smarter product, that offers a better platform for us to build amazing experiences and features for you in the future.

So, if you have already download it - it will continue to work as today, but it won't get further update or development.
so... put your hands up ! and say BYE! to picasa.
