jetbrains released Kotlin 1.0 : 'Pragmatic' Programing Language for JVM and Android

Jetbrains, well known for its IDEs for Java, Ruby, Python, PHP, Objective-C, C++, and other programming languages. Finally, company released its Kotlin 1.0 for JVM and Android - with new logo.Kotlin 1_0_Banner

Kotlin combines Object Oriented (O O) and functional features and is focused on interoperability, safety, clarity and tooling support. Company described it as " pragmatic programming language for JVM and Android".

General-purpose language, Kotlin works everywhere where Java works: server-side applications, mobile applications (Android), desktop applications. It works with all major tools and services such as IntelliJ IDEA, Android Studio and Eclipse etc.

Kotlin is an Open Source language. Developed on GitHub under Apache 2.0 Open-Source license; with over 100 contributors to date.
